Afther seeing that i think that the guy is a modestly talented guy; he plays very well but seems a bit nerous a little. over all i think he is a talented player.
My first impression of his first performance was WOW! It was amazing watching his saxophone stay in the same place while seeing his finger travel up and down the keys.
he is a very talented guy that looks like he takes his music seriously. He also looks like he has been practicing for a long time. He also gave a wonderful performance that captivated me in a world of sound.
At first I thought that he was going to be a showoff just like all the other people that have solos, then I realized that this music is simple and we can play it. I also thought that he was going to be great in the instrument that he is playing in which he is.
[1]He is amazing! His ability to move his fingers at such a pace and make his notes very clear is crazy! [2]He was stiff. Compared to others I have seen before, he wasn't as flowing with his body as some other musical prodigies were.
He was a really gooood alto saxophone player, especially the last part when he started to play all those slurs really quickly it was amazing how he didn't breathe for like probably fix or six measures. Also, it was kind of funny when he kind of got into the music in the middle of the song, and started to jump as the music/melody jumped.
First, i thought he had some kind of easy part just like playing whole notes. Then, when he suddenly started to play scales very fast and trills. I was shocked. Comparing his part to the whole band, i think his part is harder. He has very fast finger movements. He is pretty good, it seems liked he was playing 64th notes or something at the last couple seconds, because his fingers were moving EXTREMELY fast !
This guy played very well and it is amazing that he didn't make even one mistake. He also knew when to start his solo and when to end it with out a conductor or any music. I don't know if he memorized that whole thing or if it was all improvising, but it was good!
my first impression of this guy is that he takes playing very seriously because when he first comes in, he doesn't play loud and overpower everyone else. he wants the band as a whole to sound good instead of people only listening to him. also after listening to his performance, i believe he takes playing very seriously also because he is such very good player. his tone throughout the whole piece was excellent and the very complex parts that he played almost flawlessly shows that he must practice quite a bit.
He must have been playing for a really long time because his tone is really good. I was impressed that he stood in the front instead of in his normal seat to play his solo.
My first opinion is that he is good at playing the saxophone. He must of had to practice a lot to memorize the solo. He just needed to play a little louder. But otherwise i thought he was good.
My first impression: This guy really made his saxophone sound like a violin - it's very weird to hear a saxophone having a solo in a piece that's not jazz. Second impression: Wow. This guy has really good control over his instrument and its tone - it's amazing how he could maintain a good sound while moving his fingers so much and so fast; he's very talented and was able to find inspiration in the song because he had no music.
I thought this was very impressive and it must have taken him quite a while to get this good at the piece. There was a wide range of notes and fast notes that he was able to play perfectly and this is why I believe this performance was impressive.
the performer did a wonderful job delivering the music. he seemed to dance a little as he play and it made me laugh but it also showed he was into the music not only did he just play it he felt it and was it. i think we should do that to when we play (not litteraly dance but let our minds, while staying focused)
over all he did a great job and i was impressed by his speed on dilivering the notes. that takes skill, time, effort, and PRACTiCE. :] haha.
it was amazing i mean the guy can blow am i right or am i right LOL.one other thing it ws really good that he had no music and he knew his music my heart and thats reall asome!!!
My first impression of the guy's performance was that he looked like he wanted to be there (like he was enjoying himself). He also memorized his music- impressive.
I thought that his performance was very impressive. At first I thought he was alright, but when he got to the really quick notes I was blown away. It was fun to see that he knew the peice so well that he could enjoy playing it even during the hard parts.
I thought that he had to have some gut to play in front of everyone like that. Second of all, he played great on his solo and also made lots of movements. He must be very good.
Lori L. When I was watching the guy play I was completely amazed about how he changed the tempo from slow to fast. Also how he changed the dynamics from soft to loud, it was very shocking.
when i first heard him i thought it was a clarinet. this performer is excellent at dynamics and staying with the rest of the band without looking at the director (behind him).
My first impression of his performance was wow! He played very well and reminded me a lot of the little kid in another listening assignment that you posted.
I noticed that at the beginning he was playing much slower and legatto, and then at the end his notes we much quicker and staccatto. I also noticed that most of what he played was repeated a few times.
I was really impressed by how he moved the slurred notes. He was able to move the notes really fast without hearing the other notes in between. When I'm playing the saxophone i always have trouble switching notes that require moving more than one finger and making it sound clear and precise and smooth.
I thought he was really goood. He did not even have music in front of him. It really had a flowing feel to his solo. He was also one of the only people playing, so he had to work and practice really hard to get good.
My first impression was that he was going to be just another showoff like most other soloists are. But at the beginning he wasn't showing off, he was just helping create the mood that the piece of music was supposed to create. Towards the end though he started to show off.
I think this guy is a great alto sax player, and his performance was very good. I expected him to be a snotty, self-conceded showoff, but he was just an excellent sax player. I also think he could of chose more chalanging music to play in the begining, but the end was really good, and it was cool to see how fast his hands moved. Overall I think he could of challenged himself more, but he sounded great the entire thing. Billy L.
My first impression was "Oh my gosh, what a showoff." But no matter how much of a showoff he is, he's really good at playing, especially considering that he isn't looking at any music. GASP! :O It must take a lot of practice to be able to memorize an entire piece.
He was good with the memorization and he was good at playing and how he danced at the same time. He is good but he is not showing off but he likes to play music and thats his talent just like us in band room and like Mr. Terry dances when we play really good we show off our good work to him. Svetlana Z
My first impression was that he was really good at playing the saxaphone. My guess was he was about 14-16 years old which makes him even a greater preformer.
I thought that this guy was really good. I liked how the flutes played with him for a little bit. Some would say he's a show off, but i thought he did really well and that he was just showing what he could do.
The guy was super good at the saxaphone, he looked relived at the end, kind of looked tired and happy. [ i posted one b4 this one i just didnt put my name on it.]
my first impressions of this guy is that he looked very professional and yet only in maybe highschool. Also he sounded amazing and even memorized his music!
I really thought he was good and i don't think he was showing off be cause it his reall tallent. if he was shouing off the conductor woulden't of let him up to do his solo.
I'm trying to figure out if he had memorized the piece, or was skillfully improvising. He plays very well, you can tell that this guy is a professional.
I was blown away by how fast his fingers were flying! He's definitely interesting to watch and has deserved his spot; he is a talented saxophone player.
I was very impressed when i saw and heard ths guy play hes super amazing. Hes a very talented player and hes sound was really good the way he switched back and fourth with hes notes were really cool

Having to be up there is one thing but this guy had the music memorized. I think he is an awesome player.

I thought he was kind of like the guy in T2 LA #3. I also thought that he moved his fingers very very fast.

My first impression was: Wow, that is crazy how fast he plays his notes. And after that I realized just how long and hard he must have practiced.

This song has a nice, sweet tune.Very gifted
at playing his instrument, but how does he
play without his music.
