We can learn how to control our volume and posture. If we were to have a concert we would know how to dress approiately. Because from how the orcrestra dressed it will probably be the same for us. One more reason is we can learn how to rest at the correct time.
We can learn how to stay in tune with each other and how to watch the conducter better, but i think you could learn that by watching any group with a conducter.
Listening: I think from this orchestra we can learn that dynamics are very crucial in the mood and feeling portrayed from the music. I also think that by listening to their variety of the lengths of the notes, we will be able to tell the difference between a tense moment and a smooth moment depending on if the note is tenuto and slurred, or short and staccato.
Watching: By watching we can learn that watching the conductor may be helpful when you are counting your rests because the conductor may give you your entrance, but if not, the conductor's hands are still keeping time therefore you know when the next downbeat is.

*^_____^ I really liked how the stringed instruments were very quick with their hands and bows :)*
Band can be compared to orchestra in many ways, so you can learn from either one if you are in the opposite. Orchestra can teach us about dynamics, articulations, and speed changes. This is very helpful to all of us.
i think that we need to stay together like them. they are really good and there music is just as hard if not harder then our's. and they have areally good sound while they play. i think that we could learn a lot like atsying more together and listening to each other.
We can listen to how they play their dynamics and learn how they interpret the music. We can also look at how they pay attention to the conductor and play at the same time- we sure could learn how to do that better as a band. Also, listening to the orchestra's transitions and how they execute them will help us because the transitions are just like transitions in a piece of band music. There are even many band instruments in this orchestra, so there must not be much of a difference between orchestras and bands except for the sound the instruments make; that many of the things we could learn from watching a band could also be learned from an orchestra.
we can learn that there are many different types of instruments used in the orchestra just like in a band and each instrument makes a different wonderful sound.
They are cool too they can also play, but what I learned in this video was that an orgustra there are a lot of string instruments. Also there was alot of notes on the piece of music.
We can learn that the orchrestra provides really good sound and usually the instruments played in an orchrestra are high pitched.Thats all I could think of.
What we can learn from the orchestra is mostly the major dynamic changes they make. We can also learn about the articulation and how to hold on to the value of a note or shorten the value of a note. Lastly, what we can learn from the orchestra is the 'Equal Triangle', and how some sections should be loud and lead the tempo/melody, and how some should be more in the background.

Lastly, what we can learn from the orchestra is the 'Equal Triangle', and how some sections should be loud and lead the tempo/melody, and how some should be more in the background.
you can hear all the string instruments and see how well they blend in with each other. You can see how much they rely on the conductor. We can see how much they rely on each other. You can learn how much one instrument has as an impact in the whole band.
I think that some of the things you can learn by watching and listening to an orchestra are 1) New teqniques for getting more right notes 2) What kind of music can be played with certain instuments. 3) What kind of music you enjoy or don't enjoy.
We can learn different dynamic changes, time signatures, clefs, and how each instrument sounds different. We also learn maybe how to play a certain note or the way each and every individual plays his/her instrument.
I think we could learn stage appearence, such as good posture, also we could learn how other people move when they play. See how they position themselves, their instrument, and their stand in order to see the conducter.
I think we can learn [almost] everything. Counting, keeping up, watch the director, listen to your peers, and know what notes to play. Also how to gradually get louder and softer. It's not too different from listening and watching a band. -Norris V
one thing that we can learn from watching and listening is how a balanced ensemble should sound. this orchestra didn't have a certain group of instrument sticking out. they were balanced very, very well. they also had good, equally increasing crescendos. also at the end, like every band or orchestra should do, they all ended at the same time.
We can learn from seeing and listening ... how precise the notes are played and how great of an effort the orchastra takes the exaggerate the dynamics.
We can learn how different we play and how much alike we all play, also we can learn all the different sounds and how they play differently and everything.
we can learn that dynamics make the song. If you don't play the dynamics right the song isn't as good. Also we can learn that the only way to come in exactly on time and with everyone else is to watch the conductor.
We can learn to listen to each other and watch the conductor at the same time. WE can also learn how we should do our posture when we're playing in band. Also the way we dress and if we mest up we should keep on trying and not go back and play what we mested up on. But that's my opinion....=D
You can learn that when your not playing, you pay attention to the conductor. You can also learn that they have to move their fingers very fast, so we should too. Even though their insterments are different, they don't slack off, they still sit up stright.
By listening, you should be able to learn how to play in tune. You can hear that they must of praticed a lot to be able to play those 16th or 8th notes. Also, which part is more important and for those who enter in the music, that you should be able to hear them. also, there may be like over 100 people in the band, but they are able to keep in tone.
The orchestra had good timing. They knew exactly when their parts came in and their dynamics were played perfectly. They stayed together and looked like they were having a good time. That's what we can learn from an orchestra.
we can learn how to stay on the right tempo and dynamics. they're similar to us so we could learn a lot from them like playing right tempo, notes, dynamics, and breathing
we can learn how to stay on tmie by watching the conductor and listening to the music . also we can see that tha string players had amazing hand-eye coordination
From listening we can hear they are able to keep together so well and then watch to see how it is that they do that. We can also learn that our dynamics and the way we accent our notes is very crucial in how the piece turns out.
There are many things we can learn from watching and listening to an orchestra. I can't believe how many small and quick notes that they have! We can learn how to stay together better from them and to truly be in sync and watch the conductor perfectly. Every sharp movement has to be together and counting is essential. Also, they can't move any faster or slower, or it would result badly because they wouldn't be able to find where they are and get back on track. We can learn from them that we need to know our music very well, or even have some of it memorized. Someone could not possibly read music that fast if they were not to practice it enough first, especially at our age. Another key thing that we can learn from listening to this orchestra is that when they play quiet, everyone has to or it would sound out of place. They control their volume spectacularily. I would definitely like to see more orchestra examples in the future. The way that they play that fast just blows my mind!
We can learn balance, dynamics, and posture. They did a very good job of making sure you could hear everyone that you need to hear. We can use this especially when there is a solo. They also did a great job of following the correct dynamics. They had great cresendos and decrescendos. I also noticed that they had great posture. They were sitting up straight and watching the conductor.
From watching an orcastra we can learn to: -play with correct posture -sounds of the other types of instruments and -learn how a peice sound as piece played by orcrestra compared to the band or brass playing the piece
We can learn that an orchestra is not much different than a band other than instruments and the sound. I saw that they all were wearing nice clothing for the concert just like what we have to do in band. The orchestra looks and the conductor every once in a while to make sure they are keeping up with the conductor or not speeding up. They also have to do dynamics and articulations like a band.
we can learn to control our volume and posture. how to watch the contucter. how to stay in tune with others. how to rest and play again at the right time. and how to stop as a group with the contucter.
We can learn from listening how to control our volumes and how to listen to the different parts of the song.
We can learn from watching the posture that goes with playing a string instrument, and also the eye contact made between the student and the conductor.
From watching that orchestra you can learn the proper way to sit up straight, how to dress right, and even how much things are important in a concert. With an orchestra it is important to be at the same speed that evryone else it, if your not people notice, your moving your bow at the wrong time. it also shows how important dynamics are. The dynamics are everywhere which reallly changes the feeling of the music which shows us how we should ocus on that. -Alec G p.s. you spelled watching wrong
What we can learn from waching an orchastra is how we play. We can learn better posture by how they are sitting, and also learn how to watch the conductor better. If we observe what they do to, say, stay together or watch the condductor we can try and use these techniques when we play. -Billy L.
the thing we can learn from listening is the way their volume was and it was pretty cool and from watching orcrestra can be really fun to watch the way their speed was
In a orchestra, it's easier to see how in tune they are together. All movements are presise. It proves that good posture is a must and proves that it greatly affects are our sound.
Orchestra players seems to have better posture then band :p So we can learn by watching how they sit. By listening an orchestra, we can learn how to listen to other members of the band. Listening to others is important, especialy for percussion because the conducter can't always que you in.
We can learn to really watch our conductor. The orchestra is going way faster than we ever go so they have to have incredible concentration to stay together throughout the whole peice
We can learn how to stay together and follow the conductor. We can learn how to play better dynamics. We can learn better posture and overall appearance. -Nicole C.
You can learn how to have good posture ! because they sit up in their chairs, without their backs against the chairs. they also have a really good sound, so it can teach us how to have good tone, by listening to each other.

Hey Mr. Terry,
I think we can learn from this by learing our rhythems in our music and then trying out how fast the tempo is!

For the 7th grade band we can learn on how to come in when we are supposed.
