the backround makes the prafomance seem better to me because as he is palying the backround makes me think of the Roman Empire and also Beetovens songs.
His clothes; It makes him look like a professional player on the Cello. (i think) It looks like those old suits people would wear to play a solo. Just like how he is playing the music. [i don't think there is any effect on his clothing. -mai's inner thought]
The Background; It makes the theme of the music (what he is playing) about the background or so. Also, the time period (around when Bach was making music or so whatever [Baroque period])
The background of the song makes it feel as if you were at a church, listening to someone play for a choir. His clothes are also very professional, enhancing the way his performace looks.
The background makes the performace have a churchy-feel, you feel like you're listening to someone play for a congregation. The clothes he wears enhances the performance, he looks more professional and more like he knows what he's doing
Sean Payette (Don't publish the one I sent in earlier... forgot my name)
The Clothing that he is wearing makes it seem as if it were a good piece of music which it is, also the pictures on the walls make it seem older and clasic. Mark H. (i dont remember if i put my name on the first comment so im just making sure with this one)
I think the backround makes the performer look much better. The performer playing by his self with no bckround is kind of plain. His clothing looks like he is in a real performance around different people. The backround kind've describes what he is playing.
the background looks royal, making it seem like he worked hard in order to get there, and his clothing was a tux making him seem appropriate to the background.
the backround makes the perfomance seem much more like some tv show that some really good perfomers come on and play a song for people who like clasical music and his clothes makes me apreciate what he's doing
The clothing makes the performer look more professional and the clothing makes it seem like he cares a lot about his performance because he is willing to dress up fancy jest to perform. The background makes the music seem more older and more fancy because it looks like he is playing in an old church.
the setting and the clothing of the performance make me like this music better because it all fits together. the wall behind him is fancy and nicely goes with his professional looking clothes. also he is on a platform which makes him seem very important. if he was playing this music in a night club in jeans and a sweatshirt, it would not seem as good because the music and the setting wouldn't go together.
The background makes him look like hes performing in the 1700s and close to the end he started to get really in to it. He did good he played by memory. was that a concert.
The background and his clothes makes the whole performance seem more interesting to me because as people look around they would see alot of images and the clothes make it seem like it goes with the background...
I think that the setting effects the performance because the artwork on the walls puts out a more classic feel to the piece. The peformers clothing is more elegant and formal which makes it feel more classic also. I think since that the surroundings and his clothing were formal and elegant it makes you feel like he has more expierience.
During the video, the setting that he was in matched the style of music that he was playing. The clothing that he had on made him look professional and it made it seem like he really cared for the music.
The background makes it look like he's in a church, or a more formal/high class surrounding. Also by his clothes you can totally tell he's a professional.
The clothes that the man is wearing make him seem professional and that he likes his job. The background makes the piece of music seem old and kind of dull...
The background gives you a hint of the time that this piece of music is from (the Baroque Period). It also helps you to visualize what a concert would be like if you lived in the time that this music was written in. The clothing of the performer makes him seem very professional, intelligent, and adds to the quality of the performance. The way the musician is filmed makes the performance seem very practiced and definitely makes it WAY better quality wise.
The setting and clothing of the performer made the performance seem very professional. If he was wearing shorts and a T-shirt it may have ruined the performance.
His clothes deffinetely make him seem more professional. The background makes him seem more important. It makes me think that he is an amazing musician and preformer to be playing at such a prestegious and beautiful place.
The background made me think of rome and made me think of his playing somthing roman. his clothing did not match the time period on the background but he looked profesional
my sister is big into her cello and she has this song in her ipod by yoyo ma. she says it is called bach: cello suite #1 in g, bwv 1007-praelaudium.
the setting reminds me of an old roman church. it makes you think the song will be boring, but it was quite good actually. it matches the time period when the was written though. his chlothes seem like the typical outfit of a soloist, and so that does not change it much. -tyler h
It is actually very simple. His clothing and setting behind him make you feel that you are actually in that time period in which it was created. It makes it seem more elaborate and fancy. It looks and sounds as though it was created in the Baroque Period. I think that in a sense, the clothing and setting make the performance better because in a way it makes it more interesting to me. The music sounds like the background behind him if that makes any sense, it is sort of smooth, but complicated.
Since he is dressed up in nice clothes he does look professional. Since he is in a fancy looking room it looks like a church or something and looks like a big preformance. If he showed up in jeans and a sweatshirt, in the back storage room of a hair salon, i would not come to that concert, because if it doesn't look nice, i don't think that the music will be nice. What i mean all in all, first impressions are what people judge things on, so you should look nice for concerts, if you don't respect the concert, no one else will. -Alec G
The background brings me back to, maybe at the time the music was originally written. The setting focuses more attention on the player and the "solo.
His clothes; makes him look like a real, devoted celloist. More sophsiticated appearance; with a hint of classical luxary. Show his experience with performing.
His clothes make his performance seem more professional and serious by the look on his face. The backround looks like a visual of what the music he is playing would look like.
the setting makes it seem like the song is really old. the outfit makes the song seem formal, or regal. if he were playing in a t-shirt and jeans i probably wouldn't have payed as much attention to the music as i would have trying to find out what it has written on it or something.
the background and the clothes really look well together. If he wasnt dressed fancy, he probably wouldnt look as professional, because the background is so fancy.
The setting makes it look fancier or makes it seem like it's fancy music. I think that his clothes fit the setting because it's a great peice and reminds me of like Beetovens songs, also the backround reminds me of that. His clothes also make him look very professional.
This man reminds me of the all other conposers from the past. The reason that night be because of his clothing it was old fashion clothing also the backround that he had in this performance. Svetlana Z
Wasn't this song in a pasta commercial?? I think that the background makes a powerful statement. The man is the only person playing but he keeps you interested throughout the entire song. His outfit shows that the song is not a casual everyday song. I think that if he was wearing jeans and a t shirt the song would be presented in a whole different catagory.
My feelings to this song is it's not my kind of music. I appreciate his talent but all I feel is bordom. The clothing doesn't affect the way I feel. The setting looks kind of oldish and like an opera to me. Paige
i thought it was kinda of a strange piece to be performed but then i noticed how he was sitting in the center of the room semi-far away. then i thought that this could be more of a piece performed for a king or queen, that's the way it looks like its being performed anyway. then i thought it was a good piece and well suited for the clothes and setting he was in.
The setting and clothing makes you think that this is going to definatly be something from the baroque era. the fancy paintings are one thing, but if you remember, most music from the baroque era was played with one instrument. The background and clothing also makes people think "this guy is a professional because he's the only one playing, and he's in a very fancy place."
Jacob H.
PS didn't we listen to this during the baroque era lesson?
His performance is a smooth and sounds old his clothes match the music. He just looks like a guy who has been around for a long time. The music matches the old empire in the background. It makes me think of a very old play type of music.
I think the background looked him he was playing for someone really special, like he was playing in a church, or palace, so he must have been really good. The clothes he was wearing made him look professional, but it didnt really look like it fit with the background. The tux looked like something you would find in an opera house. Overall the background and his outfit made him look very classy and a very good player.
It makes him seem more proffesional. Because he is dressed good. And the background makes you get into it more, he is playing a type of music that matches with the background.
the backround looked like he was playing for ancient rome or something like that, but his cloathing made look like he's still playing in the presnt still.
The paintings in the picture portray in my mind a sense of a different time period; a sense of high class and royalty even. Everything seems so top notch. :) and his clothes make him seem important. To me it seems like it adds to the effect of having that high class feeling. This all ties into the music he is playing. The music sounds well thought out and played from the heart. Like he has a purpose. :D *nods* yepp (:
i think the setting makes this piece sound much more elaborate than it is.. the way he dresses makes it seem like the piece is very difficult and can only be played by a professional because he looks like one.
I think that his clothing and the bachground make the performance more interesting and they also fit the peice of music. They both make it look like he worked hard, and that he actually wants to do a good job. It makes it seem like he really cares about what he is playing. -Nicole C.
i think that the background scenery fits the mood of the music. It really seems like it fits with the style of music he's playing. His clothes make him look like he's getting really into his performance, & it makes him look better.
The background and clothing make it feel like he is actually playing in the cathedrals, and makes the premormance more believable. I also like that he is playing an instrument from that era.
i think it makes him look more professional like the nice paintings in the background make him seem like you focus on him more then the other areas.. and it makes you listen to it better..
I like the walls, they add a lot to the music. Also, like pretty much everyone else said. His clothes. Another thing is his posture, how he presents himself and how he got so involved in the music. -michele t.

The setting makes me think of back then. Like when the song was written. His clothes are pretty fancy to. It is a little boring to watch but his fingers move super fast and that is something good.
All in all i think it makes the performance seem... better
i say it affects the way i think cause it looks kinda more like something the adults would be listening to instead of teenagers cause the background is older and he has a suit and tie. i think, if i had to go to a concert like this it would be boring(not to be mean or anything).
It makes him look professional, & also he the setting makes him look more like he was in the Baroque period because of the drawings. Also his clothes makes him look awesome. His suit match his Cello. Also this song sounds familiar. he play it really good.

The backround creates the feeling that you are back at the time period of the song. The suit is in a fashion that one would think that musicians would wear to their concerts, at that time.

The clothes that he is wearing is like the old fasion on how other musicians played way back in the classical period, romantic and etc.
The setting of the place could be from either of the the periods that we study and learned about.
