So how is it that all of these players make their instruments sound so similar? They are all different people from different teachers, and on different instruments, reeds, mouthpieces....so how do they do it?

Probably they switch to the same pitch. So any other instrument is too low or too high. One more reason is it could be what dynamics are. Because if you play softer or louder it all blends together. Zach R.
How I think they made the instruments sound similar to eachother is that the higher instruments play at a lower octive and the lower instruments play at a higher octive
i say they practiced enough outside of with a group that when they came together it sounded better. and they fixed what they needed to make it sound together. they kept good time and didnt speed through it. it stayed more together then expected but they looked older and more praticed then us. i loved it.
I think that they are in a room that amplifies when the sounds bounce off the wall. they look old and experienced so that why they are good and make it sound the same.
I think of of the key reasons is the "conductor". Different teachers but yet just like our band concert have didn't play together until that night; yet we [hopefully] sounded terrific! Also, the musicians are probably all playing the correct notes. So it sounds all harmonic. If there were incorrect notes then those would mute one another and it wouldn't so similar. With controlling their triangle is sounds as one at times.
they all had really good tone, which might have had something to do with it. they also played very well together; you could tell they were listening to each other as they played through the piece. the lower and higher instruments might have switched octaves too to make the instruments sound even more similar.
My guess would be really good tuning. Getting the same tone is hard but I'm sure with really good players it could be done with at least similar tone. Otherwise, when the instruments are in tune then they should at least sound similar.
I think that they all sound the same because they all play in tune with the same tone. they have to listen to each other to achieve that! so if we listened to each other more, we may be able to sound like this. but its not all just playing in tune, they also probably had to practice a lot to get that good of a sound.
I had no idea that there were different instruments playing! They must sound so similar because they listen to eachother and have similar melodies and notes. They were all very in tune and played without error and played exactly on beat throughout the whole song. They must have much so experience playing that it must not make a difference where they play or who they play with. My best guess for how they sound so similar is that they listen to one another and play how the conductor of the group wishes the song to be played.
they are all woodwinds instruments, they all mesh together as one.there are some high, some low,and some in between tone which makes them sound as one and sound alike.
I think how they made it sound the same is that, all of them must of transposed at a clarinet or oboe pitch, and I think they played different octaves.
i think they listen to each other and try to match the pitch that everyone else is playing. they are all from the same instrument family, so they can match pretty easily.
They make their instruments sound so similar by finding which notes are the same on all of the intruments that are playing. For example if a flute is playing a note the bassoon will find which note will blend the best with the flute. I assume that the teachers conduct very differently but at their level of playing abilities they probaly only need a couple of minutes to get use to a new conductor. I think that if the instrument is the same the mouth pieces are about the same just different brands and qualities, same goes for reeds.
I think that they converted every of one of the instrument's notes to so that each note matched the same note on a different instrument, since a lot of the the instruments have different notes. Also, they probably move around the pitch a bit.
I think that one way all of these pieces sound so alike is because how they keep it all even. No one is louder than eachother, so you can't really hear what mistake(s) they make. Also, mostly by just listening to eachother, and knowing how the music is suppose to sound like. Than making it up in your own head.
I think it's all in posture and breathing. (Also practice; of course). It takes a lot of air to make a note as quiet as you can and also a lot, or some air to make a loud noise... Another thing can be what Jacob said; "...higher instruments play at a lower octave and the lower instruments play at a higher octave."
i think that because some instuments have a normaly highier picth they use lower notes and the instuments with lower pitchs use highier notes which make them all sound the same.
For one thing, they practiced this piece a lot. Another thing, and i saw this, too, they looked at the conductor often. Also, the instruments are woodwind, most of which sound fairly similar when playing most of the same notes, at least thats what i think.
Well first of all they must practice alot.Second of all it had to do with the dynamics each are playing. The conductor helps them by making them know to go louder or not so it sounds the same. That is what i think makes them all sound the same.
How, they manage to sound alike is that maybe they all practiced with a high octive and a low octive and then decided to play somewhere in the middle of the two octives.
I believe they're playing on different octave levels, but produces an octave level that everyone can play. and by that they can make a sound that's similar to the others
I didn't like this piece so much as the others. Sounded like they held the same note the whole song. As percussion, there isn't as much to tune the same as wind insturments. The only thing similar is when we tune the Timpini to sound like the keyboard insturments. I'm assuming this is what this band did. They probably tuned all the insturments the same before they started to play.
I think that they tune their instruments and then while they are playing they just listen to each other. Also nobody is playing any louder than everyone else.
I think one way that they all sound the same is that they are all mostly tuned together. You said that they are all from different teacher, does that mean that they have never practiced together, like just sat down and played? Or does that mean like honor band, where we each come from different schools and then take a day and practice? cause if they hve practiced outside of that concert then i think that they all would have been able to come in and been able to practice how to play good enough that they can all play to emphasise how connected they are. Also not all reed instruments sound soo much differently that they can't fit together. -Alec G.
They listen to each other so that they know which dynamic to play and how to let the music flow between all the varying players and so as not to allow for any domination over anyone else. They do a good job on that.
This Is Daiveon And They Why They Do Is That They Use The Same Notes Nut On Their On Instruments And The Teacher Hand Signal Then They Play Real Low And then Get Londer Some Times When They Playing a Note Like a G
first of all they have had a lot of practice. also i think that if you are in a higher octave you will sound more like the flutes and percussion instruments. if you are in a lower octave you will sound more like the trombone and baritone instruments. they have to listen to each other and watch their conductor.
I think the way they stay together and keep the music at the same mood is how they carefully check their music. The dynamics and accidentals. They also carefully watch the conductor and her hand motions. As the conductor's hands sway with a specific emotion, the wind players try to feel it in how they play as well. I think the players try sense that same vibe that the conductor is getting at. I think that when they constantly look at the conductor, they may be signaled in to breathe. This makes the music more flowing than if everyone breathed so that there was a moment of silence in the song. Teeheehee;; I really enjoyed it :) Makes me want to sleep :) --Nikki C.
I think that they practiced a lot and they probably got together and practiced it. Also they could of tuned them selves and they made sure that they are in the same tune it also can be the dynamics that they are playing. The instumens and how they sound mostly they are very similar. That was a good performance by them! Svetlana Z
I think that the dynamics made them sound the same. The clarinets played louder and the other instruments played slightly softer to make them sound the same. I also think that each of the players studied how each other played to try to match them.

I think that they practiced a great amount alone, and that the notes in the music were wrote to blend together. Mark H.
they all play the same notes and all same sound level.

They were all playing in the same way kinda, like flowwing a little. Also they werent really playing things to different
I think their playing there notes right and are on the same rythim, pitch, and beat.

They use their ear to listen to the others around them. Also they probably were paying attention to the dynamics in the music.

they probbly like practice like alot or they're just really skilled or their instrument is like 2 easy to play

I think that they had to practice alot to get all the pitches in rythem and to make it sound Relatively the same.

They practiced long and hard. They probally also play differently to produce a sound similar to the other instruments.

they make their thing/part sound hte same how they have different parts and harmazie
i thnk its their parts they play and their breath how they blow

they all drop or rise to the same pitch..
They have a lot of practice..

They most likely have been practicing and that it is a fast quick process to switch composres. At lesat that is what i think.
some probley made the pitch higher and some probley did higher note to match other notes.

its because they are playing the same pich but just with diferent notes so it sounds like the same note. Cole Y.
The instruments sound similar because they all play the same melody. There are not a lot of variations in the player's parts.

the skill of syncing your instrament with another is hard but if you keep the triangle in balence you can sound similar
